BATMAN: Ben Affleck will not direct solo movie
Ben Affleck has decided that he will not direct the upcoming Warner Bros. standalone Batman film. He will still star and produce, but that’s it.
Variety reports the decision was mutually agreed upon with the studio and that Affleck will help choose the new director. In fact, there’s already a short list. Here’s the statement Affleck released.
“There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions. Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

FLASH: Can Barry Allen Really Kill Iris?
Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) has learned his lesson when it comes to keeping secrets from his friends and team, so his glimpse of the future in which Savitar kills Iris (Candice Patton) won’t be kept from the STAR Labs team when the winter premiere begins. “We’re going to pick up right away,” executive producer Aaron Helbing tells THR. “Seeing Savitar kill Iris is going to have a profound effect on the team, on Barry, on Joe [Jesse L. Martin], on Wally [Keiynan Lonsdale] for the rest of our season. They’ll find out right away. What Barry’s learned throughout the season is that lies and secrets destroy his relationships or have the potential to destroy his relationships, so having learned his lesson, he opens up pretty quickly. Barry and the rest of the team are going to do whatever it takes to make sure that future doesn’t come true.”

ATOM: What will ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2 bring Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer?
When “Legends of Tomorrow” was first introduced as a series, our immediate response to it was excitement, especially given that Ray Palmer was a part of it. Since that time, we’ve seen the character (played with charisma and spirit by Brandon Routh) have an opportunity to hone his skills with the Atom Suit and fall in love … though the romance with Kendra Saunders didn’t last.
In season 2, meanwhile, the character’s had a bit of an identity crisis. He and Nate Heywood are struggling to find their roles, and for a time, he lost the Atom Suit and had to figure out how to be a hero without it. Given that this article, a chapter in our TV Underdogs series, is about recognizing those who are either under-the-radar or unexpected, it makes sense that we saw Ray have to find a way to survive without the suit that gives him such of a sense of his identity.
AQUAMAN: Did Jason Momoa Really Keep His ‘Aquaman’ Role Secret For Almost 5 Years?
We know that Warner Bros and Zack Snyder were planning an end game of Justice League for some time, but this latest claim seems to suggest that they were developing these plans much earlier than any of us could possibly imagine.
While we began to hear reports that the actor may be playing Aquaman in December 2013, Momoa’s Aquaman casting wasn’t confirmed by Warner Bros until October 2014 when it was revealed that Aquaman would have a cameo appearance in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Could the role really have been a secret for four of five years? Let’s take a look.
