The 2022 World Cup kicks off this month!
For the first part of our 2022 World Cup special edition series, here’s our fearless prediction for the group stage.

GROUP A

The easiest group by far, the Netherlands (though with a weak goalkeeper, sorry Jasper Cillessen or Justin Bijlow) will top this group. Many think Senegal will pull it through, but we have our bet with Ecuador. Ultimately the goal difference will decide.

GROUP B

England with Harry Kane’s lead will easily advance together with Gareth Bales’ Wales. The USA’s squad is not that strong to advance to the next round, but they can still get past Wales.

GROUP C

The title favorites will have a hard time against Robert Lewandowski’s Poland and a decent Mexican squad. The question is, will it be Poland with a weakened squad or will it be Mexico?

GROUP D

No Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante. It will be a bit of a problem for France. But the good news is, there’s Raphael Varane. Some predict Denmark will top this group but do not underestimate the titleholders’ ability.

GROUP E

Like in 2018, Germany will have a hard time gelling the squad. They might be devoured by another favorite Spain if they will have another disastrous showing like last time. But under the new coach Hansi Flick, things will be different. If they could put it together, Germany will be a force in the knock-out stage.

GROUP F

It might be Belgium’s twilight years but don’t count them out. For one, there’s Kevin de Bruyne. Croatia can still stop this group, though.

GROUP G
Brazil, another favorite, will top this group, of course. But we predict Switzerland will be the runner-up, sorry Serbia. Although, it will still depend on goal difference.

GROUP H

Cristiano Ronaldo will have another go for a World Cup title. Portugal will have little difficulties with Uruguay and Ghana. We predict that Uruguay will be the runner-up in this group.
