Belgium vs Portugal

The Euro 2016 champions might be out of luck this time. They might have Cristiano Ronaldo but the quality of Belgium’s starting XI is overwhelming, Portugal might need to pull all the stops to defend against the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Eden Hazard.

Italy vs Austria

Italy has had a convincing performance at the group stage and is proving to be quiet the dark horse everyone predicted. Austria, on the other hand, has had some problems on their attacking front, but did got lucky with North Macedonia and Ukraine. We’re predicting that Italy will advance on the next round.

France vs Switzerland

Poor Switzerland, France is still one of the favorites to win the Euro 2020. No one can stop Kylian Mbappe, but Xherdan Shaqiri and Granit Xhaka can try. Switzerland can learn from Hungary and try an upset.

Croatia vs Spain

Spain is another dark horse in the competition but they so far had a lack luster performance with a last ditch effort against Slovakia pushing them into the Round of 16. Croatia will advance on the next round, but Spain can still pull some surprises.

Sweden vs Ukraine

This is a hard match to predict. Sure, if this World Cup 2018, it’s easy to say that Sweden will get through. Sweden topped Group E but their performance was not that good. Ukraine, on the other hand, placed third on Group C, but the way they played was amazing, giving Netherlands a hard time, before falling to Austria, 1-0. My bet is on Roman Yaremchuk’s team.

England vs Germany

England fans are trembling. But they are prepared and has assembled a formidable starting XI to take on the Germans. If Germany continue to play like they did against Portugal, England’s set plays will have no match. Kai Havertz and Robin Gosens should be consistent.

Netherlands vs Czech Republic

Netherlands will advance. (Sorry, I don’t have that much to say about Czech Republic).

Wales vs Denmark

Aaron Ramsey’s team has had a good Euro 2020 campaign so far, but have you heard about Denmark? Any team that could give Belgium a hard time is a worthy team to watch out for in my books. Denmark will advance.

Quarterfinals

Belgium vs Italy

Italy will have to work hard to defend against the strong attacking front of Belgium. I don’t see any reason why the Belgians could not win this round.

France vs Croatia

The repeat of the World Cup 2018 Final will surely be in the headlines if this will happen. But I don’t see a different outcome this time. France simply has too much class and skill for Croatia to beat them. But they tried have they? Maybe an upset and a sweet revenge is in order.

Ukraine vs Germany

If Ukraine could pull a performance like what they did against Oranje, coupled that with Germany’s signature inconsistency, they might have pull an upset here. But if Die Mannschaft will continue to be the German everyone expects them to be, well, this will be an easy match for them.

Netherlands vs Denmark

I always like the clockwork style of Netherland’s attack. They just need to have a strong defense against an unpredictable Denmark side and everything will fall into place. Netherlands will advance ot the Final 4.

Semifinals

Belgium vs France

Are you salivating now? The repeat of the World Cup 2018 semifinals is something many fans dream about, more so of the Belgians who want a revenge against the French side. Hazard could have another go on France’s “defend and lurk on the counter” style and find a solution against it. If that happens, we will not have another boring match between these two. My money is that there will be a different outcome this time.

Germany vs Netherlands

The German team has one of the strongest starting XI amongst the EURO 2020 teams, but their problem is consistency. Their match against Hungary is very worrisome. Against a formidable opponent such as Netherlands? They wouldn’t stand a chance if they keep on playing an uninspired match. Netherlands will advance to the Final.

Final

Belgium vs Netherlands

Frenkie de Jong and Daley Blind vs Kevin de Bruyne and Eden Hazard. This is a match that any football fans could dream of. Netherlands has a strong attacking front but they need to work on their defense in order to stop de Bruyne’s constant attack. My Final prediction? Belgium will win the Euro 2020 Cup.
