Germany Sweep Large Hill Nordic Combined
Germany was the team to beat after winning all four available gold medals at last year’s World Championships. German Johannes Rydzek, the reigning world champion, took first place, followed by compatriots Fabian Riessle and Eric Frenzel, who has won gold in the normal hill competition and the last five World Cup titles. Ryzdek was in fourth after the ski jump.
Alexander Krushelnitsky subject of anti-doping case
An anti-doping case has been opened against Russian medal-winning curler Alexander Krushelnitsky, says the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas).
Krushelnitsky, who won Winter Olympic bronze with wife Anastasia Bryzgalova in the mixed doubles, is suspected of testing positive for meldonium.
Cas opened a case against the 25-year-old following a request from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Canada and Germany tie in thrilling 2-man bobsled
A tie. That’s right. There was a tie for gold in the two-man bobsled on Monday in PyeongChang as Canda and Germany finished four runs with identical times, down to the hundredth of a second, in a thrilling race. With a clutch, precise performances in their fourth and final runs, Justin Kripps of Canada and Francesco Friedrich of Germany led their sleds to gold in a razor-thin race. Alexander Kopacz joined Kripps in the Canadian sled and Thorsten Margis joined Friedrich.

American Chris Mazdzer humbled by breakthrough luge silver medal
The math humbled Chris Mazdzer.
He’s one of 33 American men who has competed in singles luge competitions at the Olympics. The way he sees it, each of them devoted somewhere between 10 to 20 years to the sport and the quest of becoming the first to win a men’s singles medal for the U.S. And until these Pyeongchang Games, they all fell short.
Team USA’s biggest Winter Olympic team nabs few medals (so far)
They came to Pyeongchang with mountains of accolades, heaps of expectations and more airtime than an Olympic ski jumper.

Somebody held up a Michigan flag in the front row of the stands, as Sam McGuffie crossed the finish line in his Olympic debut on Sunday in two-man bobsled.
“It was good,” McGuffie said. “Ah, you know, it wasn’t any different than anything else to me, honestly.”
