France fall to defeat in Stockholm as Toivonen scores with keeper stranded
Ola Toivonen took advantage of a Hugo Lloris error to score an injury-time winner from inside his own half as Sweden beat France in their World Cup qualifier in Stockholm.
The Toulouse midfielder collected a low clearance from Lloris close to the halfway line and clinically lifted the ball into the unguarded net to earn a 2-1 victory that leaves Sweden top of Group A in qualifying for next year’s World Cup in Russia.

Latvia 0-3 Portugal: Cristiano Ronaldo bags a brace
Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice, taking his tally in the World Cup qualifiers to 11, to help them claim a somewhat flattering but important 3-0 win away to Latvia on Friday.
Portugal’s fifth successive win in Group B left them with 15 points from six games but still three behind leaders Switzerland who beat Faroe Islands 2-0 to maintain their 100 percent record.
Estonia 0-2 Belgium: Dries Mertens and Nacer Chadli strikes maintain visitors’ commanding lead at the top of Group H
Dries Mertens led Belgium to a 2-0 victory over Estonia on Friday to give it a dominant position in World Cup qualifying Group H after closest challengers Greece and Bosnia-Herzegovina played out a 0-0 draw that was marred by a brawl after the game.
In a typical end-of-season display, Belgium did just enough to get the three points in Tallinn, Estonia, with Napoli’s Mertens latching on to a fumbled ball by goalkeeper Mihkel Aksalu to put the Belgians ahead in the 30th minute.
